I haven't blogged in a while...

so I decided to drink a protein shake and write this instead of a real blog. You know, one that tells you what I've been up to for the past CRAZY month. Maybe that blog will come...maybe it won't...maybe you just have to BELIEVE I'll get off my big, snowboarder butt and write it. But for now, here's this.

***********FOODOLOGY***************
What is your salad dressing of choice?
Makoto Ginger Dressing. Nums.

What is your favorite sit-down restaurant?

Watermelon. Lots and lots of watermelon.

What are your pizza toppings of choice?
Meatball, spinach, olives, and mushrooms.

My car....ROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRR!!!!!!

Have you ever been knocked unconscious?
More than a few times. Occupational hazard.

************BULLCRAPOLOGY**************

If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
Dr. Bitch Jackson. But you can call me Dr. Bitch.

Would you drink an entire bottle of hot sauce for $1000?
Yes. That's easy money for a gringo like me.

************DUMBOLOGY******************
How many pairs of flip flops do you own?
Probably four or five.

Last time you had a run-in with the cops?
March 2009, driving through Wyoming on the way back from Park City. Going 79 in a 75 shouldn't get me pulled over, right? Wrong...

Snarky...but good!

Nothing worth typing.

Potty.

Yes. It's actually my most favorite way to sleep.

***************OTHER-OLOGY*****************
Do you always answer your phone?
No. I hate talking on the phone.

Its four in the morning and you get a text message, who is it?
It could be one of four different people but chances are, no matter who it is, it'll say "MCIHLELE! I LVOE YOU! XAAAAAAAAAAAA!" True story.

If you could change your eye color what would it be?
I'd want the color to change with my mood. Otherwise, I like my current brown eyes a whole bunch.

What flavor do you add to your drink at Sonic?
I don't. I'm really not a fan of Sonic. It makes me feel barfy.

Do you own a digital camera?
Yessum. And I use it lots.

Have you ever had a pet fish?
Yes! And now I have one for life, right here on the left side of my chest.

Current Worry?
Nada.

Current hate right now?
One of my neighbors has been taking up two parking spaces for the past WEEK because he can't fucking park his tiny-ass Jeep, which forces me to be the asshole who parks in the never-used handicapped space. Irks me...

Met someone who changed your life?
I feel like everyone I meet does.

What song represents you?
Dirty Mary by DJs From Mars. (Jeopardy category: Things Michelle Types Instead of a Serious Answer)

Are most of the friends in your life new or old?
It's about half and half, I'd say.

Do you like pulpy orange juice?
No. I LOVE PULPY ORANGE JUICE!

What is something your friends make fun of you for?
Having a horrible sense of direction. My nickname is "Garmin" if that tells you anything.

So there's that. Hopefully it kind of makes up for the fact that I was too busy going to the SIA Tradeshow, The X Games, and finishing up with MTV in Wisconsin to blog.

More later. I love you all even if everyone says they "read my blog but never comment".

Oconomowoc, Wisconsin

I'm gonna start this blog off by saying I'm going to make it a point to update on a regular basis because it's so hard to go 2 weeks without blogging and then try to cram everything in to one post. Plus, my memory is legendarily bad and details get lost in the fray.
Anyway, I just got back from spending the past 9 days in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin with MTV. And SINCE my memory is so terrible, I'm going to bullet point my favorite moments of this epic, midwest saga. Here I go, try to follow along.

1. A group of tween girls taking cell phone pictures of Jesse at the baggage claim in Milwaukee.

2. Jeff and I getting our rental car upgraded for free because of the whole "MTV" thing. (Thank you, Molly at the Milwaukee airport Enterprise!!)

3. Riding at Olympia. Maybe the teeniest little hill you'll ever see! But I love all of the locals there. They're so nice and obviously love skiing and snowboarding an insane amount to
go out every night of the week and shred a 50 yard vertical drop.

4. Maybe the most surreal moment of my life so far has been signing a ton autographs in the lodge at Olympia for all these local, die-hard shred kids. I think I know how Shaun White feels now because that's who I was treated like! I signed goggles, jackets, helmets, bindings, boots, boards, sweaters, body parts, receipts, you name it! Insanity.

I mean, wow, right?

5. Sam, one of the cool dudes who works at Olympia, lost a bet to another cool dude who works at Olympia so I got to cut and style his beautiful, long hair into a much more conservative 'do. I think I did alright, seeing as to how I don't cut hair for a living and I was using like, child safety
art class scissors. He's still super cute!!!
The "after" pic. :-D

6. Spotted Cow. My new favorite beer! Thanks, Mike!

7. Going bar hopping in Delafield and Milwaukee. I got in a fight with a bouncer at this club called Trinity but I won. Then we all left and went across the street to a different bar where all of our drinks were comped. Yeah...I don't remember a lot about that night.
I'll own you in pool.

With some of my boys at some bar in Milwaukee. I didn't catch the name.

8. Getting coffee and food at Winestein's every morning with some of my favorite guys: Jeff Meyer, Jonathan "Hershy" Hershberger, and Jesse Csincsak.Me and Jesse getting our soup onnnn.

9. Saturday night. Free hummer limo. Free dinner + 3 drinks. Free VIP bottle service at Apartment 720 in Milwaukee. We all got Grey Goosed. The goose was definitely loose. It was one of those nights where you wake up, get together with your friends, and slowly piece everything together.
Limo loves!
All of us silly pro snowboarders with some former The Bachelor contestants and friends! (L to R Jonathan Hershberger, Natalie Getz, Brent Behling, Kristin Massimino, Me, Nikki Kaapke, Jesse Csincsak, Suzie Williams, Mike Musser, Ann Lueders)
Hummer limo! Drivin' to da club.
My awesome party buddies, Kristin and Natalie! I think we all were a few drinks for the worse at this point.

10. Chinese food at Fong's in Oconomowoc on Sunday. If there's anything more satisfying than chinese food when you're hungover, I'm unaware of it.
There's no great reason for why I'm not looking at the camera. Also, look at Hersh's eyebrow. It got sliced up in the chaos of Saturday night. Kind of like the huge bruise I have on my back from falling down a spiral staircase.

Now of course there are a million other reasons to like Wisconsin. Like, I'm fairly certain I tried my first cheese curd on Saturday night and it was delicious. And a Packer's jersey is considered acceptable work attire on a game day. The sunrises are brilliantly pink. Jeff and I were working out at this gym and got free, bootcamp style personal training from the owner Kevin Ellis. We couldn't fully extend our arms for a few days. It was also kind of hilarious how obvious it was that Jeff, Jesse, Hersh, and I weren't from Wisconsin. We'd walk into a restaurant and people would stop eating to stare at our beanies and brightly colored puffy jackets. I'm psyched to go back in February to finish up some filming and compete in ChillFest!

I love and miss you Wisconsin,
Meesh

p.s. Anyone reading this who has an iPhone NEEDS to download the app Words With Friends. And when you get it, ADD ME! I'm meeshjibs. It's all we did during our downtime last week. Well, except Jesse. He has a stupid Blackberry.

SO MUCH GOING ON!

So I just got back from visiting my family and friends in NYC and I realized I hadn't blogged in FOREVER. Anyway, so much going on!!!
I'm thinking it would be more "reader-friendly" to just number all the amazing things going on with me lately...

1. I was munching on some spinach salad one night after a long day of riding when I got a call from Kim Gustafson over at Opedix (http://www.opedix.com). He said they would love to have me as a team rider and overnighted me some AWESOME tights. These tights have helped my riding so much and I haven't even had them for a full week. It's crazy to say but I'm jumping AT LEAST 30% higher than before. It's sooooo sick!!!

2. Julie, my incredibly awesome pilates instructor, is now my incredibly awesome sponsor. She is solely responsible for my rock hard ass and my abs of steel...mostly because she makes me laugh so hard. Check her out if you want to get incredibly fit, incredibly fast. (http://www.brilliantbodiesbyjulie.com)

3. I got a huge-
ass shot in the Summit Daily during the Dew Tour here in Breck. It is the coolest feeling
to see yourself in a newspaper. I highly recommend it. Here it be. Jeff Nass is the man.

4. Went to Wolf Creek Monday night. Woke up Tuesday morning to 4 feet of fresh. Epicness ensued. Most snow I've ever seen!!!

5. Rode a mechanical bull with a sprained neck to get a free bandana...cuz I'm a whore.

6. Got home from my New Year's vacation to a big ol' box of awesome hats and facemasks from my loves over at Screamer (www.screamer.com). I'm wearing one right now. It's fleecy and awesome.

Love, peace, and balls,
Meesh Hytner

p.s. I mean gumballs. I bought a bunch in NYC. They're kind of my new thing.

Dermatone Rocks!

What's up everyone! (All 6 of you...)

I picked up a new sponsor today! Dermatone is an incredible skincare brand specifically formulated for people like me, i.e. people who spend the majority of their days on top of big, sunny mountains. I could not be more psyched!

Check them out here ---> www.dermatone.com

(This stuff is great , especially for wounded lips)

Tons of SPF and love,
Meesh

p.s. Spent my afternoon at Woodward at Copper learning all kinds of cool flips. This day ROCKED.

I'm on the homepage of Snowboard-Mag.com!

Which is super cool, really.

Slashing some the best opening day snow of my life! (Photo: Jeff Meyer)

Yesterday reminded me why I love living in Breckenridge. The snow was amazing. There was none of that bare, icy chatter you might usually associate with opening days. The sun was out in full force, the pancakes were flowing as freely as a mountain stream, and the Park Lane triple line was immaculately groomed. It was a great day to be alive and snowboarding.
We're supposed to get about 6 inches of snow here this weekend, which is long overdue. I have high hopes for an epic week!

Lovelovelovelovelove!

Meesh's First Blog!

Hello, blog people!
I just moved back to Breckenridge a few weeks ago to start my winter life back up. It's been a big (but AWESOME) adjustment since I spent my summer living in New York City. I forgot how quiet and peaceful it was up here in Summit County. I grew so used to falling asleep to street noise that I've had to readjust to silence!
Life at 10,000 ft is another big adjustment. I barely remembered to follow the high altitude baking instructions when I made muffins this morning! But luckily, this is my 2nd season up here and my lungs have learned to adapt to anything I throw at them. Especially when I make them go on long, hilly hikes and push it hard on the stairclimber at my gym.
I've got a really big season in store for me. Lots of photo and video shoots planned (check out my man, Dave Lehl @ http://www.davelehl.com/) I'm also taking a trip practically every month. Sometimes TWO! Wolf Creek is first up later this month. I'm pretty excited about riding some of that legendary Southern CO powdah!
I did a photoshoot for Screamer Hats (one of my awesome sponsors) down in Boulder a few weeks ago. It was super fun because we shot most of it in an empty skate park and then drank a whole bunch of Jamba Juice. I can't wait to see the pictures! You should check them out, too when they're up @ www.screamer.com!
Anyway, that's what I've been up to lately. I'm about to go shred some sweet slush at A-Basin with my coach, Jeff Meyer!

p.s. I hope you enjoy these pics. They're from some of my favorite moments last year.

Woodward at Copper is the most magical place on earth. Disney ain't got nothin'!

Being in your local paper is cool because the maintenance guy in your apartment building will recognize you and give you a big high five.

Mammoth has the best wallrides!

A nice little cliff in Snowbird, Utah.

Goofing around with the lovely Tara Dakides in the Screamer Hat booth at last year's SIA Tradeshow. I had just downed a 5-Hour Energy and therefore, decided to love everyone. Even total strangers walking by!

Me and my boyfriend, Travis Rice.

Checking out the Dew Tour halfpipe in Breck, only hours after it was completed.

Photo by Dave "the man" Lehl

Shooting backcountry powder pics with Dave Lehl makes me approximately THIS happy.

Pipeside in Aspen, watching the Men's halfpipe finals. Thanks to Meg Pugh for the sweet hookup!
